Hi there folks! I have always really enjoyed working in the garden. I find the work very creative and rewarding .I still get that tingle of excitement when I get that phone call or email inviting me to help suggest a new design for a garden. Take Gary and Elaine for instance. They invited me over because they needed help with their garden. This dynamic couple have a very busy lifestyle with Elaine working fulltime in the city and Gary frequently away on business thus leaving very little time for themselves to relax in the evenings. They asked me to come up with a design that would fit into their busy lifestyle. They were unable to find time to spend on maintaining a garden but yet they needed a space where they can relax and have a glass of wine in the evening and catch up on the day’s events or perhaps just sit out and catch the sun or read a book.
In this case after listening carefully and evaluating this couples needs I came up with the design that can be seen in the photos. If you notice, I kept the trees at the end of the garden, which provide privacy and a beautiful backdrop. The John The Handyman team of Gary, Thomais and myself then proceeded with the task of levelling this space. I decided to use old railway sleepers to frame the bottom of the garden with its beautiful trees. We extended the existing patio area and laid new slabs which can be used as a BBQ area or maybe an area to host parties. We put in a couple of raised beds using four inch boot kerbing and dressed with Donegal quartz to help keep the garden virtually maintenance free. Finally and I am sure you will agree we added the expertly crafted stone circle where a patio table and chairs can be added to finish off this now completely renovated space.
